Books, bowls, and Buddhism…? {thursday thoughts 1.10}

Good morning! I can’t believe winter break is almost over. I have so much to do before I leave on Sunday – lots of fun plans involved! On the agenda today is getting a new passport picture for my upcoming study abroad trip! Ok, it’s next, next, summer…but my dad wants me to be prepared. Before I get started, I want to give a shout out to Alex to mention how much I love my new Mizunos. It’s amazing how much a difference new shoes can make! I took them out for a quick treadmill run. I’m serious, guys. This is my last week before I start legitimate training for both upcoming half marathons. I’m awful at keeping up with training plans, so hopefully I can stick to this one.

Anyway…here’s how winter break has been around here.

Reading books. Lots of them.

Oh, and educating myself on the basics of Buddhism. It’s not a big deal. It’s actually incredibly interesting and I’ll share some of my insights with you tomorrow. I don’t plan on changing my religion any time soon, it’s just something to think about.

Tara Styles yoga DVDs I got from Amazon for $20. What a deal! If only I had a yoga studio in my house…

These cute plastic bowls I got at Target for $1. I think food tastes better when it has a cute plate or bowl to match. It also photographs better, too :)

The fact that I saved $170 ordering my textbooks on Amazon versus going through Tech’s bookstore. That’s just unreal.

Going to bed smelling this candle makes me hungry. So I keep my TJ’s dark chocolate espresso pillows right next to it. Easy access.

I’ll be back tomorrow with some interesting thoughts for ya!

    Buddhism has always been one of my favs to learn about! I think it’s such a cool and peaceful religion/lifestyle :) And ohhh textbooks…I don’t miss that part of school haha…those dvds look awesome…I’ve been looking for new ones to try…have to look into them :)

    YES! When I discovered that Amazon has much cheaper textbooks it was life-changing! Also, I don’t know how your school is but mine practically gives you cents when you try to sell textbooks back, so I have found that Amazon is much better for that as well. Those bowls are super cute, Target you say?!? Ahhh I would kill to have a Target in Santa Barbara!!

    Oh wow I’d go to bed hungry too if I was smelling a candle like that! And then I’d wake up hungry… I’d need multiple TJ’s candies next to me to satisfy this hangry beast haha but I’m interested to see what your half marathon training entails; I thought you were already training with all those long speedy runs!

    I definitely saw that yoga deal on Amazon too! Shoot, now I wish I bought them… Also, I saved an incredible amount on textbooks by buying the ebook version and just using my iPad as a textbook. I’m loving my decision, plus I now have n excuse to use my iPad all the time.

    I’m so jealous you have Gone Girl! I tried buying it at Barnes and Noble and they were all out. Then I tried requesting it from the library but they said they had too many requests so they couldn’t take mine :(
    Also, I can only imagine how yummy that candle smells! I’ve recently become obsessed with candles myself :)

    Ohmygoodness, I can only imagine how fabulous that candle must smell!! And Mizunos? They’re my new babies. I never understood how girls could care so much about shoes until they came into my life. And seeing as you’ve been rocking your runs recently — I can certainly see they’ve had an impact!! Fabulous! :)
