apologies in advance {mimm 1.14}

Good morning! How was your weekend?! I had a good one, filled with lots of family, blends, and fun. I’m happy to report that I’m now safely back in Blacksburg and ready to begin the recruitment shenanigans. Before I get to that, let’s discuss my weekend.

On Saturday morning, I woke up bright and early and whipped out a 10.2 mile run. It felt awesome, and it’s been my longest run since half marathon training. After my run, I had to get ready pretty quickly so I could meet up with Allison, Molly, and Alex at Chop’t in downtown D.C. Let me just say, even though I can’t stand the traffic, I’ve been loving visiting downtown D.C. lately (2 weeks ago I went to Cleveland Park to visit Alex). I ended up getting a bit lost both times, but I found some beautiful future homes for myself. My mom says I have expensive taste and should marry rich. Humph. I also REALLY want to run on Rock  Creek Parkway. It looks beautiful and would be a good change-up! Oh, did I mention Chop’t is delicious?

When I got back from D.C., my parents and I had plans to see Zero Dark Thirty at our favorite locally-owned theater. We always have this goal to see as many Academy-Award nominated movies as possible, I think I’m doing better than them at this point. Loved the movie, definitely recommend it. It is a little over 2 and a half hours long, so keep that in mind.

After the movie, my mom made us the best sausage black bean chili. Chili is one of my favorite winter-y foods. We ended the night playing Taboo and praying the Packers would lose. Hello, we’re Bears fans over here.

On Sunday morning, I was planning on running a shorter distance but ended up covering just over 9 miles. I knew I wouldn’t be able to get in much mileage this week due to all my busy-ness, so why not get it out of the way on the weekend? When I got back from my run, I made my new favorite oatmeal combo – with blueberries, blackberries, and peanut butter!

I ran a couple errands before heading out (I procrastinated – yikes!) and ended up getting in around 5. I unpacked and did some last minute crafting. Check out the covers I made for our composites! Just FYI – we have to cover the individual composite photos of Rho  Gamma sisters in the sorority. I was pretty proud of myself!

As far as my apologies, I want to let you know that it’s going to be very hard for me to keep up with commenting/replying back this week as we have workshops all day and begin the recruitment process on Friday. I’m going to try my best! It kills me, too, but I can’t say I’m upset about it. I love spending time with my sisters.

    It sounds like you had an awesome weekend. I’m only a little mad at you for leaving DC early for recruitment. I’ll get over it… eventually.

    Oh yeah, rock that adpi lovin’. ;) I’ve been wanting to see Zero Dark Thirty, but I’m a little wary of the intensity of the film. I feel like my life has been so high stress that going and seeing a high stress movie miiiiight not be the best decision.
