how are you?

Hello, hello! My blogging has been pretty sporadic lately. Life got in the way…what can you do? I’ve been spending a whole lot less time in front of the computer and more enjoying life. I can’t say I regret it at all.

This past weekend was incredibly busy. I was at the sorority house by at least 8 AM every morning to prepare for the day’s recruitment activities. Activities involved talking to LOTS of potential new members…resulting in a pretty nasty sore throat. Long story short, I was running on very little sleep all weekend and it doesn’t look like that will change this weekend as recruitment continues! I love it, though. Some photos from the weekend….

I can’t wait for this weekend to continue. By Sunday, we’ll have a new pledge class!

Since classes didn’t start until yesterday, I went on a long run (10 miles) on Monday morning. It was the best run I’ve had in a while. I didn’t run for speed…which is probably a good thing since my running trail was so icy. The weather was beautiful, and I discovered a new part of the trail since I went a bit further this time. Gotta love a good run! After my run, I picked up some coffee.

Have I mentioned how much I love getting recognized by my favorite companies on social media sites? It’s awesome – and a dream job of mine. Speaking of social media, I’ve been loving DailyMile lately. It’s great for inspiration and holding myself accountable as I train. As if I need motivation to run. Psh. All I need to think about is that awesome feeling I get after finishing a run.

Yesterday was my first day of classes, and I have to say, I’m pretty excited for this semester. I’m taking classes more geared toward my major and I have buddies in all my classes (which could end up being bad….). On my schedule for this semester: Media Writing, Visual Media, Introduction to Communication Research, Hispanic Literature and Culture, Creative Writing Fiction, and a survey course at the local elementary school teaching grades PK-6 how to read.

I know this isn’t a typical WIAW post, but to be honest, I’m getting a little bored of taking pictures of everything I eat. I will share my mom’s latest creations, though. She’s pretty proud that her meal ended up looking almost exactly like the recipe picture.

Impressive, huh? I’m off to another morning/afternoon of classes! I promise I’ll be getting back to a normal schedule soon…I love blogging too much to be away for so long!

You’re enjoying everything your sorority events and that’s awesome! I don’t really do WIAW for the daily food, I do it for something I’m eating that’s fun. I’m totally with you on that! Your outfit is so cute!!!

Looks like you’re having a lot of fun right now with your sorority duties, as well you should :) I’m glad that everything is going well, and your mom’s creation just made my mouth water!

Ohhh recruitment. If you guys have rush like we do (including all the psycho songs and small hand gesture dance moves), I’d be surprised if you DIDN’T have a sore throat! It’s hectic, but hopefully it will be worth it when you get your new pledge class!
